Class A CDL Driver
Class A CDL drivers fulfill an important role within FRC by driving semi-trucks hauling equipment and materials that are necessary for track projects. This position requires knowledge of load securement for equipment, a clean driving record, and a willingness to travel within the United States with overnight stays of up to several days per week. The successful Class A CDL Driver will also ensure an understanding and adherence to all safety needs/regulations, will be a clear communicator, and willing to work as part of a team, including as a laborer as needed.
Track Crew Member
As a member of FRC’s field construction teams, the Track Crew Member will perform all tasks associated with building, maintaining, and repairing railroad track and the related facilities. This position requires physical manual labor, assisted by hand and power equipment as appropriate, and is performed primarily outside in all types of weather. Track Crew Members must be able to travel within the United States, with overnight stays, long work-hour durations, and emergency response calls possible. The successful Track Crew Member will ensure understanding and adherence to all safety and jobsite needs/regulations with support from Foremen and Project Managers, will be a clear communicator, and will be willing to continuously learn through trainings and field experience.
Mechanic
Mechanics are key members of FRC’s shop operations team, working with the Shop Manager to ensure all company equipment and vehicles are maintained and repaired as needed. This position requires knowledge of heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel engines. Mechanics typically perform repairs and maintenance on-site at the FRC shop but must also be able to travel within the United States, potentially with overnight stays, to troubleshoot and perform equipment repairs in the field. The successful Mechanic will also ensure an understanding and adherence to all safety needs/regulations, will be a clear communicator, and willing to work as part of a team.
Tamper Operator
As part of the FRC operations team, the Tamper Operator will primarily operate and maintain the Mark IV Tamper. The successful Tamper Operator must be able to travel within the United States with overnight stays, long work-hour durations, and emergency response calls possible. The successful Operator will also ensure understanding and adherence to all safety needs/regulations and will be a clear communicator, willing to operate other equipment or perform labor work as required, and willing to work as part of a team.
Equipment Operator
The Equipment Operator will operate and maintain equipment as part of a track crew to repair and maintain track safely and efficiently. The successful Equipment Operator must be able to travel within the United States with overnight stays, long work-hour durations, and emergency response calls possible. The successful Equipment Operator will also ensure understanding and adherence to all safety needs/regulations, will be a clear communicator, willing to perform labor work as required, and willing to work as part of a team.
